Welcome to Practicum Placements
As part of the Clinical Practicum in the Bachelor of Exercise Physiology (HESC4611 & HESC4622), this is a system enabling you to submit your clinical placement requests online. We will consider the personal preferences of students in their allocation to clinical placements. We make every effort to secure you a placement from one of your top 5 preferences; however, owing to resource limitations, students may not receive their top preferences.
Preferences must be submitted by the date noted in the HESC4611/4622 course outlines. Students who do not submit a preference by this time will be allocated to whatever attachments are left for their term or will be un-enrolled from the practicum course.
After you login, follow the instructions.
Instructions:
Step 1: Click on the 'New Selection' link in the left side navigation bar of the Placement system.
Step 2: Enter in any special request information if applicable.
Step 3: Check that the Course: 'Clinical Practicum A/B', Year: '2010', Teaching Period: 'Session 1 or Session 2 or Session 3' and Number of practicum courses this session: '1' are selected then click on 'Save' at the bottom.
Step 4: Scroll through the list of available Clinical Service Placements (Click on Column Head to sort) and click on the interested Clinical Service name. You can use the Google map feature to select the most suitable placement.
Step 5: On the Clinical Service profile page, click on 'Add to Selections' to add the Clinical Service to your list of 5 placement requests. Repeat this for each request (ranked 1 to 5). To re-order the Placement selections simply drag them up/down until you have the order you require.
Step 6: Submit your selected Clinical Service placement requests for consideration and final allocation by clicking on the button 'Submit Selections'. Email confirmations will be automatically sent to your UNSW student email account (please check the junk folder in your student email if you don't receive this).
NOTE: you cannot change your preferences once submitted - please take the time to consider them carefully before clicking 'Submit Selections
